Arrival in Kathmandu and transfer to the hotel

The First Himalayan Holidays team will be at the airport to welcome you in Kathmandu, Nepal. They will escort you to one of the finest 5-star hotels in Kathmandu in a private vehicle. It will take around 20 to 30 minutes to reach the hotel, depending on the traffic.

Day 2

Heritage tour and trip preparation

We spend this day discovering Nepali culture, traditions, history, art, and architecture. You will spend half of the day visiting popular tourist sites in the city and the remaining half shopping and packing for the Everest View trek.

Our friendly and knowledgeable tour guide will pick you up from the hotel after breakfast. We recommend wearing comfortable clothes and shoes because the tour involves lots of walking around the monuments.

We also recommend carrying some cash (Nepali currency) to buy things that may catch your interest. We will take you to historical sites such as Swayambhunath (Monkey Temple), Bouddha Stupa, Pashupatinath Temple, Kathmandu Durbar Square, and Patan Durbar Square.

After the tour, the guide will bring you back to the hotel. Rest for a bit and later meet us for a quick catch-up. Then visit Thamel to explore its bustling streets and shop for trekking essentials.

Day 3

Early morning flight from Kathmandu to Lukla airport and hike to Phakding

You will start the day quite early. Have a lovely breakfast and get ready to leave your hotel. Today, you will be flying to the Everest region to bring your adventurous journey. Our team will drop you off at the airport.

You will go through a smooth security check and board the helicopter. The flight will be around 45 minutes and shows an incredible aerial view of Kathmandu city. You will fly across lush hills and witness majestic aerial panoramas of the Himalayan range during the flight.

Upon landing in Lukla, say hello to your porters and begin trekking to Phakding village. The altitude gain from Kathmandu to Lukla is quite a lot in a short time, so we descend to Phakding village the same day to lower the risk of altitude sickness.

From Lukla, the trail follows the Dudh Koshi River and goes through small Sherpa villages and rhododendron-covered hills. The route is especially beautiful in the spring season when rhododendrons bloom all over the trail.

One of the major highlights of this day is hanging suspension bridges. You will cross a lot of them while hiking to Phakding village.

Day 4

Hike from Phakding to Namche Bazaar

The hike from Phakding to Namche Bazaar is quite adventurous. The trail ascends and descends through rhododendron and pine forests, crossing several suspension bridges along the way.

After crossing Monjo village, the trail enters the Sagarmatha National Park. We will register the permits at the police checkpost. On the way, you will also cross the long Tenzing Hillary Suspension Bridge.

You will ascend to Top Danda. If the weather permits, you may witness the first glimpse of Mt. Everest from here. Towards the end, the trail will become steep.

During the flight, see the trail that trekkers follow to hike to EBC and Kala Patthar. The helicopter flight will present breathtaking aerial views of the mountains such as Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, Ama Dablam, Makalu, Pumori, etc.

Likewise, you will also see the stunning view of the Khumbu Glacier and Khumbu Icefall. After the tour, you will return to Lukla. We take a 15-minute stop here to refuel the chopper and fly back to Kathmandu.
