Nepal Visa

Most international travelers can obtain a tourist visa on arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu or at major land border crossings. Tourist visas are generally issued for 15, 30, or 90 days and can be extended within Nepal if required.

Alternatively, visas can be obtained in advance from Nepalese embassies or consulates abroad. Passports must be valid for at least six months beyond the intended stay and contain at least one blank page.

Currency in Nepal

  • The official currency of Nepal is the Nepalese Rupee (NPR). While local currency is essential for everyday expenses, Nepal is increasingly traveller-friendly:

  • Credit and debit cards are widely accepted in Kathmandu and Pokhara
