Overview

Enjoy the highest level of comfort, exclusivity, and lavishness during the luxury Everest Base Camp helicopter trek.

Trek to the Everest Base Camp, the base of the tallest mountain in the world, like never before on this trip.

The luxury Everest Base Camp helicopter trek 13 days is a helicopter trek. It means you do not walk from Lukla to Phakding, Phakding to Namche Bazaar, or any other village.

Instead, you will be taking helicopter flights from one village to another. Each flight will be around 10 to 15 minutes long. You only hike on acclimatization days in Namche Bazaar and Dingboche.

It will be a moderate hike to Hotel Everest View and Nangkartshang Peak, respectively. Till Lobuche village, you will take five helicopter flights. From Lobuche village to Everest Base Camp, you will take a horse ride.

Interesting, right? Yeah, we have introduced horse rides between Lobuche village and Everest Base Camp via Gorak Shep. It is great for travelers who are not able to hike due to their health or physical limitations, or simply not interested in hiking at all.

We have trained horses. A horseman will also travel with you, which further ensures your safety. After the EBC hike, Kala Patthar hiking is optional. It will be a sunset hike.

For the finale, you will take a helicopter flight from Lobuche to Gokyo village. Spend a night here. If you are interested, the Gokyo Ri hike is available.

On the last day, you will fly from Gokyo village to Kathmandu in a helicopter. Altogether, there will be seven helicopter flights during the luxury Everest Base Camp helicopter trek.

Why choose the luxury Everest Base Camp helicopter trek?

The luxury Everest Base Camp helicopter trek is one of the most epic EBC trek programs. Unlike the traditional EBC trek that requires long days of hiking, nearly two weeks of physical endurance, and basic mountain accommodation, the luxury Everest Base Camp helicopter trek takes this adventure to the next level.

*No one can imagine that the Everest Base Camp trek can be done like this, so easily, comfortably, and lavishly. And we are talking about full route coverage, including a side quest to Gokyo Lakes.

Travelers who are seeking a luxurious and comfortable Everest Base Camp trek experience will love this package. We have meticulously designed the itinerary, combining night stays at all major Sherpa villages and multiple helicopter flights.

You will witness breathtaking aerial views of the valleys, villages, and mountains. Rather than trekking 6 to 7 hours each day to travel from one village to another, you will be taking a 10 to 15-minute helicopter flight between the villages.

It not only makes the trek ridiculously comfortable but also gives you more time to explore the villages and enjoy your time in the mountains. You will witness aerial views of the valleys, glaciers, and mountains, which make the journey very special.

Comfort is another key aspect of this trek. Guests stay in the luxury available lodges throughout the Khumbu region, including well-known luxury mountain properties that provide warm hospitality, comfortable rooms, and exceptional cuisine even in remote locations.

Unlike traditional EBC treks that require daily hikes of six to seven hours, this journey includes shorter walks and carefully planned acclimatization days.

This makes the experience far more accessible for travelers who wish to enjoy Everest without undertaking a demanding expedition-style trek.

The itinerary also includes several unique highlights rarely experienced on standard treks.

For example:

  • A horse ride to Everest Base Camp offers a memorable and comfortable way to reach the legendary destination.
  • A helicopter flight to the pristine Gokyo Lakes reveals one of the most exquisite landscapes in the Himalayas.

Is the luxury Everest Base Camp helicopter trek suitable for you?

This heli-assisted journey blends the iconic trekking trail of EBC, breathtaking views of the world’s highest peaks, and the comfort and efficiency of helicopter transfers.

You will save your time and effort, and have an unforgettable adventure in the Everest region. On top of that, it is a luxury trek, so you will stay overnight at the finest properties and have gourmet meals during the journey.

We have carefully curated the itinerary, so you will not miss out on any destination and will also exclusively visit the Gokyo Valley.

Instead of spending nearly two weeks walking through the lower valleys, you will soar above them in a private helicopter, landing directly in the Himalayan villages while staying in the region’s finest luxury mountain lodges.

If you are in search of the most exclusive and luxurious Everest Base Camp trek package, then this trek is perfect for you.

This itinerary is particularly ideal for:

  • Luxury adventure travelers: Travelers who love exploring extraordinary destinations but prefer a carefully curated journey with high-quality lodges, experienced guides, and seamless travel arrangements.
  • Time-conscious travelers: Many of our guests are professionals or entrepreneurs with limited vacation time. This itinerary allows them to experience the highlights of the Everest region quickly and efficiently.
  • Couples and private travelers: The journey is perfect for couples celebrating a honeymoon, anniversary, or milestone trip. Private helicopter flights and boutique mountain lodges create a memorable and intimate travel experience.
  • Photographers and nature enthusiasts: The Everest region is one of the most visually spectacular landscapes on Earth. Helicopter flights provide incredible aerial perspectives of glaciers, peaks, and valleys that are rarely seen by traditional trekkers.
  • Travelers seeking a comfortable Everest experience: With helicopter transfers reducing long trekking days, guests can enjoy the beauty of the Himalayas while maintaining a comfortable pace.

The helicopter experience in the Everest region

Exploring the beautiful Everest region by a helicopter is a very impressive and premier experience. This trip definitely costs you more money than the standard or even usual luxury EBC trek.

However, you also unlock the highest level of lavishness that the Everest region has to offer and witness views that only a few tourists get to experience.

First Himalayan Holidays brings this rare luxury EBC trek package that will completely transform your Himalayan experience. On this trip, you will truly feel the power of adventure and opulence.

As the aircraft lifts above the Kathmandu Valley, the bustling city quickly fades into the distance, and the dramatic landscapes of the Himalayas begin to unfold.

Terraced hillsides, deep river valleys, and remote mountain villages gradually give way to vast glaciers and towering snow-covered peaks.

The Himalayan range stretches endlessly across the horizon, revealing a landscape shaped by some of the most powerful geological forces on Earth.

Unlike traditional trekking routes that require days of hiking to reach high mountain villages, helicopter flights allow guests to arrive within minutes while enjoying spectacular aerial views throughout the flight.

*Each flight becomes an unforgettable part of the journey.

Guests soar above the legendary Dudh Koshi Valley on the way to Lukla, circle the vibrant Sherpa town of Namche Bazaar, and continue deeper into the Khumbu region toward Tengboche and Dingboche.

One of the most spectacular flights takes guests across the immense Ngozumpa Glacier (on the way to the pristine Gokyo Lakes).

From the air, the vivid turquoise waters contrast dramatically against the rugged Himalayan terrain, creating one of the most stunning landscapes in Nepal.

Leaving Tengboche, you will continue the journey to Dingboche village. Wake up on time and have another excellent breakfast. Then get ready for a short 15-minute helicopter flight to Dingboche village.

*The helicopter flights are short, so you will be experiencing quick altitude gain. You may feel a little uncomfortable because of that. Do not worry. Inform your guide. He will provide first aid that will help you feel better.

*Garlic soups and ginger-honey tea work magic for acclimatization. Have them daily.

If you think you may get altitude sickness, then skip the helicopter flight and hike all the way to Dingboche. It is an easy, gradual hike with no hard climbs. This is an alternative option. However, once you are in Kathmandu, we will have a trip briefing session where we will discuss more about the options.

While flying from Tengboche to Dingboche, you can see the trekkers hiking. Likewise, enjoy the wonderful views of the valleys and snow-capped mountains.

Today, the helicopter flight will be only 10 minutes long. During these ten minutes, you will see a dramatic view of the Khumbu Glacier and surrounding mountains.

The landscape drastically changes in Dingboche onwards as you enter the alpine zone. Mountains are much bigger and closer. Land at the helipad in Lobuche and walk to your lodge.

The remaining day is free. Rest and freshen up. Later, explore the village. We also recommend going on a short acclimatization hike. It will help you a lot to adjust to thin air and prepare you for a higher altitude the next day.

Day 9

Horse ride from Lobuche to Everest Base Camp 5,364 m (17,598 ft) and back to Lobuche village

A horse ride from Lobuche to Everest Base Camp may sound very new or weird to you. But it is an excellent option for travelers who cannot hike on their own.

We do not take a helicopter flight from Lobuche village to Everest Base Camp because there will be no landing. You can only fly above the base camp and return to Lobuche, which is definitely not fun.

So, we took a horse ride from Lobuche to Everest Base Camp. It saves you almost 8 to 9 hours of hiking (both ways). And do not worry, the horses are trained to carry travelers, and there will be horsemen, and it is ethical.

For the very first time on this trip, you will actually be experiencing the trail closely. The terrain will be rugged and steep. In a couple of hours of hiking, you will reach Gorak Shep.

Gorak Shep is the last settlement before Everest Base Camp. We take a short break here to replenish ourselves and the horses. Then we set off once again and continued ascending to the base of the tallest mountain in the world.

Upon reaching EBC, you can explore around and take pictures. Definitely walk a little closer to the Khumbu Icefall to have a better look. This is the first extreme challenge that mountaineers tackle on their way to the Mt. Everest summit.

After some time, hop on your horses and follow the same route back to Lobuche village.

If you are ready for some more adventure, then we highly recommend a sunset hike to Kala Patthar. You will get to see an excellent view of Mt. Everest and many other mountains from Kala Patthar, along with a breathtaking sunset.

There are 6 main Gokyo Lakes. The Gokyo Lakes are one of the highest freshwater lake systems in the world. The Gokyo village is situated near the 3rd Gokyo Lake, which goes by the name Dudh Pokhari in the Nepali language.

Enjoy some of the finest aerial mountain vistas and scenery. Upon landing at the Gokyo village, check in at your hotel. Then explore around the village.

You can hike to the 1st and 2nd Gokyo Lakes. If you are feeling adventurous, hike to Gokyo Ri. It is one of the best viewpoints to see a heavenly view of Mt. Everest.
